The 70s definitely had its share of car chase films… We certainly aren’t complaining.
And you can’t name the top five movies of this era without including Vanishing Point.
This 1970 cult classic is about a man named Kowalski on a mission to deliver a car while evading police and meeting a host of characters along the way.
What car was he delivering? Well, it just happened to be a white-hot 1970 Dodge Challenger.
Equipped with a 440 engine, Barry Newman, the star of the movie, made a comment that it was so powerful that “it was almost as if there was too much power for the body. You’d put it in first and it would almost rear back!”
