Usually, the standout car from a film is driven by the star of the movie. Not in this case.
In the 1968 film Bullitt, the star and namesake of the movie (played by Steve McQueen) drove a Ford Mustang. But the Dodge Charger was the most talked about car, and it happened to be driven by the bad guy – a hitman played by Hollywood stuntman Bill Hickman.
Bill said that the big block 440 engine in the Charger was so powerful and so much faster than Steve’s that he would have to slow down during filming while being chased so that he wouldn’t pull away from the Mustang.
Now that’s a powerful car!
